"Art and Sea in Harmony"

Maine Shellware, LLC is a locally owned small business that promotes an environmentally conscious way of thinking by supporting the ecosystem of Maine. The Company utilizes reclaimed lobster, mussel, clam and other New England shells to make beautiful jewelry and homegoods. Maine Shellware, LLC is a minority owned company which was initially founded in 2008. The company has been through some changes and is now owned by Michelle Klam with the manufacturing facility in Bangor, Maine. Artisan/office manager Amy Douglass, joined the team in 2015 and is assisted by Artisan Nicole Klam.

We use these raw commodities to create our products:


Amy is a Kansas Native, who relocated to Maine after falling in love with it's beauty and her love of the beach. She always tells everyone, she was born in the wrong state and was destined to live near the ocean! Amy loves to design and create new products and Maine Shellware is a natural fit for her.

Nicole is a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in political science. She was employed with Maine Shellware throughout her college career and worked in Scarborough doing production, business development and marketing.


Michelle has lived and worked in Bangor as a business manager for a variety of Medical practices over a thirty year period of time. She attended Husson University taking Business Management classes and is assisting with business management, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
